The Challenge

The current job market has made job search difficult for everyone, but for individuals with a hearing loss, there are more obstacles.

The Solution

Our TransAccess Deaf Services Employment Specialist is able to assist individuals who are Deaf and hard of hearing in employment preparation, job development and job placement.

We provide an all inclusive employment service program dedicated to the deaf and hard of hearing job seeker. Collaborations and partnerships are a critical component to our success. Through such relationships, we are able to provide innovative and seamless resources for employment seekers. In addition this helps us develop a high quality pool of candidates for interested employers.

The partnership between the Department of Rehabilitation and TransAccess Deaf Services provides specialized services necessary to clients who are Deaf and hard of hearing to find employment and be more successful on the job.

Once a job placement is made, we also provide ongoing support for both employers and employees.

We promote communication access for persons who are deaf and hard of hearing and are committed to providing culturally competent and relevant services that include advocacy, assessment, career counseling, vocational guidance, job search skills training, assistive technology and workstations ergonomics assessments.
