Bob Zier - Manager, School-to-Career - Mentoring and Enrichment Services
Bob Zier has over 25 years experience working with persons with disabilities, including coordinator of field campaigns and public affairs for MDA, Director of Program Development for a nonprofit organization, and Sales Coordinator for a revenue enhancement program at De Anza College. He has initiated and established a number of community based projects and programs, for example, he established one of the first non-traditional rehabilitation centers for people with disabilities, and initiated the development and construction of the first completely accessible apartment complex for people with severe disabilities in Northern California. He also established a no-cost training program partnering local corporations with an employment service for people with disabilities. In 1996 he joined TransAccess to design and implement a unique School-to-Career Program, now highly recognized by educators and employers.
Bob earned a B.A. in Liberal Arts from California State University, Fresno. He is a strong advocate for people with disabilities, having a physical disability himself. He has provided many presentations at conferences and corporations and currently serves on various high school districts and college advisory boards, NOVA CONNECT, and the DOL Office of Disability Employment Policy.
